Despite the fact that it was not on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Cordelia didn have a birthday on screen, in the Angel episode entitled “Birthday.” Despite the fact that it is, in my opinion, the worst episode of Angel, it was nice to see Cordy get a birthday episode.

I’ve always wondered why Buffy’s birthdays are so hugely featured when no-one else’s is even mentioned. I guess they couldn’t show every single Scoobie birthday but it seems strange to me that it was only Buffy’s birthdays that ever made it on to screen…

Someone else came up with this, but I agree…
It’s because Buffy isn’t just having a regular birthday like (arguably) the rest of them are. It means more for her, because every year she lives is borrowed time. The Scoobies will-or at least assume they will-lead long, normal lives; Buffy doesn’t have that.

Ah, I never thought of it like that.

yeah good point so i guess celebrating each birthday is a way of saying that each year for buffy is a blessing!

Yeah, especially after she dies/thinks she’s gonna die so many damn times !! Poor girl. Hopefully wherever she went after Chosen (Italy I think?) she had a huge party for her next birthday and got some decent presents :o)
