Angel discovers that Buffy is alive during an off-screen phone call from Willow in the Angel episode ‘Carpe Noctem‘. Angel calls the Slayer in the Buffy episode Flooded, and she goes off to meet him - not in Sunnydale, not in L.A., but somewhere in the middle. This is a nod towards the fact that there are no more Buffy/Angel crossovers now that Buffy has moved from the WB to UPN. Buffy returns to Sunnydale in Life Serial but doesn’t want to talk about her meeting with Angel (she just says it was “intense”), another nod to the lack of crossovers. Likewise, in Fredless, Angel says he really doesn’t want to talk about meeting Buffy.

I could be wrong, but I swear that both Buffy and Angel recieve a call from the other. Was this a contradiction?

I thought that Willow rang Angel to let him know

So then why did Buffy come in to the room all flustered and say that was Angel on the phone and that she had to go? Did Willow call Angel and say, “Oh, by the way, I raised Buffy from the dead” and then turn and hand the phone to Buffy?

Willow told Angel at the end of the first episode of season 3 in Angel. Angel then called Buffy.

Willow told Angel that Buffy was dead in last episode of Angel season 2 - There’s No Place Like Plrtz Glrb.
The gang have just got back from Pylea and enter the hotel to find Willow sitting there.
Angel: “There’s no place like…Willow?”
Cordy: “What’s..?”
Angel: “It’s Buffy.”
At the end of episode 4 - Carpe Noctem - in season 3 of Angel, Willow calls Angel and tells him that Buffy is alive and the sometime between this episode and the next Angel calls Buffy and they meet up.

Yeah but Buffy gets a phone call from Angel at the end of Flooded? Cause she came back at the beginning of Life Serial with “fried chicken parts” and Willow had her whole line about being a breast girl.

I would like more crossovers. I think if Dawn and Connor had met, they would have got together, and that’s a series in itself.

Any one else thinks this is funny (how UPN and WB souldn’t have any cross overs) and now the two networks are merging?

Not to pick on you Esual, but I must disagree on both counts here. I didn’t think that crossovers were good for either show (especially Angel, as it needed to get out of the shadow of BTVS as it did after the second season really), and I was glad to see them go away.
As for Connor and Dawn, that appears to have some popularity, but it seems that it is really because they are they only two characters in the ‘verse of that age range. They just are so different, and I can’t imagine that being anything other than sort of icky.

I know there was a cesation of crossovers but there were more later on. Such as when Angel showed up for the Buffy Finaly,Sorry guys can’t spell that word, and Andrew on Angel.
