What on earth is a cherry picker?
I’ve always wondered about that effect, it really captured my imagination. I had images of them being pulled along on blue trollies and then chromakeyed out.
But seriously, a cherry picker?

A cherry picker is one of those trucks with a hydraulic arm that’s got a platform on the end. They use them to fix street lights and other high up things.
The gentlemen are real they run FOX.

ther are several forms of cherry pickers. I used to drive one that as sort of like a stand up fork lift with the forks in the back. the one james is describing is seen in life serial when buffy uses one to kill a demon by pulling out it’s hydrolic hose

some of the gentlemen were moved using the cherrypickers and others were put on trollies and pushed across the set. Was something to do with the fact they could only use one or two of the cherrypickers at the same time…they were great effects though.
