      i love that whole scene…

      “what’s your name?”
      “Buffy”
      “no, really.”
      ::shrug::

    2. somethingblue says:

I also like when Willow’s mom refers to Buffy as “Bunny Summers” in Season 3, “Gingerbread”

    3. MagicBone says:

And in, see above (Something Blue, that was my attempt at humor)Spike: “Yeah, and the name Buffy just gives it that touch of classic elegance.”
      “What’s wrong with Buffy?”

    4. Abby M. says:

Yeah, like in Welcome to the Hellmouth the girls making fun of Buffy’s name…and weren’t there names something weird like Aura and Aphrodesia?

    5. blutortu says:

And “Blue” was mentioned in the same scene.
Add to that Willow, Xander, Rupert, Robin, Dawn, Faith, Riley, Spike, Angel, Harmony, Oz…none of them too common names (at least, not until the show aired. You’d be surprised how many little Willows and Anyas I run into now.)
Notice the characters who died all had more common names: Jenny, Joyce, Tara, Wesley, Ben, Larry, Jonathan, Warren, Ted, Joyce’s zombie-empanada friend Pat, etc. God help the day player whose character name is Joe. Bloody death follows.

This is my new theory (it’s approximately three minutes old) and has some obvious exceptions, notably Andrew, who lives with a tame name and then Anya , who died with an “Aud” name (tee hee.) But if my hypothesis stands, I most unhappily concede that Kennedy might be around for a long while. Blast.

    6. Angel242 says:

Darn, let us wish a painful and bloody death for Kennedy…
Anya is a common name in Sweden.

    7. slightlyembarrased says:

Would that it were BtVS’s “Kennedy” on Dealy Plaza in Dallas on November 22, 1963….She really was contemptible.

    8. NotFadeAway says:

I don’t get why everyone hates Kennedy so much. I didn’t think that she was anywhere close to being so “contemptible.” I mean, the people on this site seem to really hate her.

    9. Angel242 says:

Hrm.,. we are very insecure persons.
We have a hard time letting people in on our hearts.
We like to take it slow, we have been hurt you know. :D
And Kennedy is really forced upon us, with no background story at all exept that she’s spoiled and a brat.

    10. NotFadeAway says:

While it’s true that Kennedy wasn’t given much background, I still don’t think that she was such a terrible character. I really think that, had the writers had more time (as opposed to having to wrap up the series in a few episodes), they would have introduced Kennedy a lot slower than they did. However, despite the fact that she was not given much backstory, she was still a much better character than a lot of the other potentials, at least in my opinion.

    11. hannah_wish01 says:

i liked kennedy, sure she was no tara, but with the amount of time the writers had to introduce her i think they did a satisfactory job, although i would have liked to have seen more of her, from either previous shows or in (a muched fantasised about) season 8. but all in all she was prety cool

    12. AnyaRocks says:

MagicBone - I like the scene with Spike and Buffy, but mainly because of what Giles says after they say -

Spike: Yeah, and the name Buffy just gives it that touch of classic elegance.

      Buffy: What’s wrong with Buffy?

Giles: That’s what I’d like to know.

    13. slightlyembarrased says:

I thought the best line from “Something Blue” was when Giles said to Xander as he was waving his hands in front of Giles’ face: “Stop doing whatever it is you’re doing…you smell like fruit roll-ups.”

    14. Springy Sunshine says:

Oh, the BEST lines from “Something Blue” (although the previously mentioned quotations were hilarious too :P) would have to be, in my opinion:

Spike - Comfy? I’m chained in a bathtub, drinking pigs blood from a novelty mug. Doesn’t rate huge in the Zagat’s guide.

Giles - So the plan is to cure my total incapacitating blindness tomorrow, is it? (He’s just ALWAYS so deadpan. It’s even funnier than usual in this episode though, as he’s getting confused & frustrated, along with his overly cool attitude to the fear caused by his unexpained blindness!)

      Xander - How? What?!? How?!
      Giles - Three excellent questions.
Spike - What are you lookin’ at?
Buffy - The man I love.
Xander - Can I be blind too?

Buffy - Exactly. Riley seems so solid. Like… he wouldn’t cause me heartache.”
Willow - Get out. Get out while there’s still time.

Aww, I love this episode. It’s hilariously funny, but kinda cute too!

    15. somethingblue says:

My absolute favorite line from this, my favorite episode (I DO love Xander’s “How? What? How? - he was really very funny there) was when they were arguing
Buffy: “Stop it! This is our wedding and you’re treating it like a big joke!”

Spike: “Oh, pouty! Look at that lip.. gonna get it.. gonna get it..”

and then Giles was so repulsed. Another really good one was when Buffy was marching the little wedding couple up Spike’s arm:

Buffy: “Aren’t they a perfect little us?”

Spike: “I don’t like him. He’s insipid. Clearly human.”

Buffy: “Oo, red paint. We could smear a little on his mouth ? blood of the innocent..”

    16. Springy Sunshine says:

Gotta love the blood of the innocent. Who WOULDN’T want the blood of the innocent on their wedding couple? Just put it on top of the big, fancy cake & you don’t even need a dress or flowers to make the day. Nuhuh. The blood of the innocent says it all. Maybe.
