E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial

In Pangs, the Scoobies leap on bicycles to go and help Buffy and Giles, which is a visual reference to the famous scenes from the movie E.T. when the kids ride their bikes to help E.T. the alien get back to his ship.

    1. Magic Malcolm says:

One thing that has always bugged me about this scene…if Xander’s supposedly so ill from Hus’ curse, then how the heck does he manage to ride the bicycle so easily?

    2. inversecub says:

And it was kind of a visual reference to the calvary coming to the rescue as well, a old cowboy movie cliche.

    3. samuelf says:

And how does he manage to stealthily creep up on one of the warriors and smash a plant pot into his head? Considering just a little earlier he couldnt stand unsupported? Heheh, ah well

    4. Wynter says:

I love this scene, especially as how it leads on from Buffy’s line “We need help” and then you just see the Scoobies racing to the rescue on their stolen bikes, with the cheesy music in the background. It’s hilarious!
