Giles sings at the Bronze in his dream in Restless. The piano player in the scene is Christophe Beck (the Buffy composer) and the band is Four Star Mary (the real band behind Oz’s band Dingoes Ate My Baby). Anthony Stewart Head recorded the song with Four Star Mary. The lyrics are:
Strange, it’s not like anything we faced before,
But it seems familiar somehow.
Of course. The spell we cast with Buffy must have released,
Some primal evil that’s come back seeking,
I’m not sure what.
Willow, look through the chronicles for a reference to a warrior beast.
I’ve got to warn Buffy. There’s every chance she might be next.
And Xander, help Willow.
And try not to bleed on my couch I’ve just had it steam cleaned.

Haha I love that line “and try not to bleed on my couch; I’ve just had it steam cleaned.” God, I love this show.

I thought that song was hilarious. It’s always great when someone sings. I made my sister and my mother watch it with me at least 10 times, hoping that they would laugh. (They never did. They just wanted to know when I would untie them.)

It seems whenever I see something hilarious on a Buffy episode (hence, my fav episode in somethingblue because it cracks me up) I make my husband watch it with and he barely cracks a smile. I guess we are all surrounded by humorless individuals unlike our clever, funny selves! So, you are not alone in trying to share the humor - a break away song is ALWAYS funny!

The song is great, Anthony SH has a great voice, and the lyrics…. LOL! I love this show very much, but I think I’m the only one hardcore fan here in Hungary…. :( No one cries with me, laughs with me. They only laughs on me when I talk about my Buffyness… :D
Restless is one of my favorite epis, so as Something blue and Tabula Rasa and Him and The wish and so on……. :D

What about the last line?
“No wait…” (feedback)
Great moment. Especially when Tony busts out the memorable chorus of, “I’ve got to warn Buffy; there’s every chance she might be next.” Hi-larious.

I found a video on youtube to this song and how it foreshadows season 6

I don’t think that song is a foreshadow as such, it just happens to fit really well with that theme. Good video though, it’s an amusing idea.
