In Older and Far Away, Dawn screams, “Get out, get out, get out!” at Buffy and the gang. She said the same thing to Buffy and Joyce in season five’s birthday episode, Blood Ties. In Lessons, the zombie janitor yells, “get out, get out, get out!” at Buffy.
Perhaps intentionally similar to Dawn’s outbursts? |

Not really - all teenaged kids go through phases like that. I know I did, and I didn’t even have the excuse of finding out that I was really a mystical ball of energy rather than a normal human girl.

In The Weight of The World, Glory screams the exact same thing.

Jess, considering how well you run this site, I am inclined to believe that you actually ARE a mystical ball of energy.

I just yelled “Get out, get out, get out!” to my kids…does that mean I’m a brat or they are? Some circumstances drive one to such emotional explosions. No matter how annoying Dawn was in Season 6, we all deserve a good little fit sometimes.

I noticed that Dawn always seemed to do it on Buffy’s birthday. What an attention seeker!

Well, she had a pretty good reason the first time but yeah, she annoyed the hell out of me when she did it in Older and Far Away. I just think, for being a 15 year old, she was acting REALLY immature. Everyone has valid reasons for needing to leave the house (college, work, etc) and she makes it all about her: “blah blah, no one wants to spend time with me, blah blah.” It’s like “no, that’s not even the point you self-centred git!” They have responsibilities but of course, she doesn’t get that. GRR ARG!

I like how she is during season six. I know that she’s being bratty and self-centered a lot, but that is interesting. I don’t want to see everyone acting all perfect; there have to be some people who have character weaknesses like this on the show. Also, I really like that moment in ‘Older and Far Away’ because I really like references to the past, and being Buffy’s birthday, it makes for a great reference.
That’s just one thought on the matter, anyway.

I never scream annoyingly at my parents and siblings when they’re trying to help me!
Maybe when they come into my room without knocking… but certainly not if they’re being nice to me
