In Flooded, Giles says he has a flat in Bath in England. This is an in-joke as Anthony Stewart Head, who plays Giles, lives in Bath in real life. He decided to spend more time there with his family during season six which is why we don’t see as much of him. Scenes from the beginning of season seven where filmed in Anthony’s house in Bath. |

All well and good, but how did Giles find time to start a new life? He had just returned to England in the first episode of the season, they immediately called to tell him Buffy is alive, and he decided to return to Sunnydale.

I know - he says to Buffy in Flooded: “Well, I arrived home, I met with the Council… I keep a flat in Bath. I met with a few old friends. Almost made a new one, which I think is statistically impossible for a man of my age.” All this in a couple of days (if that!). Very impressive!
