Olaf and Aud (seen in Selfless) are a legendary Viking couple. Olaf the White was a warrior king (the son of King Ingjald) who married Aud the Deep-Minded (the daughter of Ketil Flat-Nose). |

Iirc they say on the commentary on the DVD that they (i.e., Joss and crew) only found out about this couple ‘after the fact’. But liked it alot when they learned Aud the Deep-Minded was supposed to have been a real economics wizz.
