The Judge was nicknamed “The Smurf” on set because of his blue colour, a reference to the cartoon characters in the 80s TV cartoon The Smurfs. In Innocence, Buffy calls the Judge a Smurf. |

In Underneath Illyria says Wesley called her a smurf.
