Alyson Hannigan found it extremely difficult to film the scene in Bargaining (Part 1), where she stabs the deer. She was very upset at the thought of Willow doing this and had a model of a deer which she had to “kill”. Marti Noxon says that Alyson cried the whole day and eventually most of the more gory scenes where cut out. |

I always thought it was ironic how Willow is dressed in a nice white dress in this scene with a pretty river behind her. She looks so pure and angelic… and then she stabs the deer. I realize she had good intentions (in the long run) but still… it was weird to watch. A nice touch, I think.

@ margybee: Well, according to the comments by Marti and David that was sort of the point. Until this point Willow was one of the most innocent characters on the show (therefore the white dress). Also notice that in the scene immediately following the one with the dear she wears a red shirt.

Oh, I never noticed the red shirt thing before lilyme. Good point.

That’s sad that she found it so difficult to shoot :-( I’m not surprised though, I find it hard to watch as it is, so I’m glad the gory stuff was cut
