Willow’s loss

In Something Blue, everyone says they’re sick of Willow’s constant moping about losing Oz. This seems a little unfair, especially on Buffy’s part considering she moped about Parker for a long time.

I don’t think it was the mopiness as such they were talking about. In ‘The Initiative’ Willow was just moping and noone complained, but both in ‘Pangs’ and ‘Something Blue’ she was angry, and taking out her anger on her friends. I’m thinking it’s probably not something you can stand from someone for too long, no matter what she’s been through.

I think they were a little harsh to Willow regarding her behaviour and all that, but I guess it was inevitable. Willow was inevitably going to be upset and therefore in a TERRIBLE mood because of it. It’s kind of a vicious circle. Willow just lost the first serious relationship she’d ever had, naturally that’s gonna suck, especially for her, it seems like shes had a fair amount of neglegence in her past already, and now shes lost the first person who actually worhsipped (almost) her. Then, in her opinion her friends start doing the same thing.

But hey. It all turns out alright :)

I seem to remember in this episode that Buffy thinks she’s gotten over it until Spike opens their eyes that Willow’s still hurting. So Willow can’t have been moping or annoying them all too much.
Oh, and by the way, how cool is it that her angry (albeit subconscious) lashing out at her friends precursors veiny Willow when she loses Tara so much later?
