The cause of the flames before impact is due to some film technical problems, besides blowing up your actors with a rocket launcher wich might give some union problems. The Judge at that particular shot was replaced with a statue of him. The rocket was a rubber rocket wich bounched of the judge, to hide this the CG fire was added. So before the rocket should have exploded. According to Josh in his commentary of this episode…Every great show needs a rocket launcher…
