Considering they know the real risk of vampires, why do Willow, Xander and Anya show no common sense when they are patrolling with Riley? And why does Buffy let them go? I know they have had ‘field experience’, but vampires still have incredible strength and there is a real risk for normal humans to be out hunting them. Allowing the gang to go patrolling surely degrades Buffy’s status as the one and only Vampire Slayer? |

i don’t think they are being casual about patrolling, they just aren’t as *military* about it. When they patrol with Buffy, they usually just walk around and talk (since buffy doesn’t need to be so stealthy). As far as why she let them go, she was attacked by ONE vampire (that’s part of the whole point) so a group of them is probably better than just riley who is now all *joe normal”

Plus, Xander and Willow did fight the vamp population by themselves when Buffy left town in Becoming Part 2.
