[5.13-26.54] Dawn’s diaries

Goof seen in: Blood Ties at 26.54

Willow says about Dawn’s diaries, “She’s been keeping those since” and Buffy continues, “Since she was seven. I remember too, Will.” Buffy was 15 when she moved to Sunnydale, which meant that at that time Dawn would’ve been around 10. How would Willow “remember” Dawn starting her diaries when Buffy and Dawn would’ve been in L.A?

Willow doesn’t finish her sentence, Buffy finishes it for her. All willow would have to remember is that she knew that dawn started her diaries then…which could have been information gathered from Buffy or Dawn at any time.

    2. Anton says:

Willow didn’t finish the sentence because she didn’t know exactly, but she knew it was a long time.

    3. Blondie-Bear says:

It can be interpreted many different ways, maybe Willow just meant Dawn had been keeping the diaries ever since she knew her

    4. mairceridwen says:

Also, Xander says, “The Dawnmeister Chronicles” which implies that Dawn’s diaries were something of Summers Legend; they all knew that Dawn had been keeping a diary for a long time.

    5. Angel242 says:

exactely, this is no goof really, I’m sure there is an good explantion.
But maby it is, Joss has admitted that math isn’t his big thing.

    6. Kevmaster2000 says:

I always thought Willow didn’t finish the sentence because she realized that it wasn’t true, the memory of when Dawn started her journal was just false.

And I’d say she just knew about when Dawn started the diary….a Summers Legend, like mair said.
