Why do Buffy and the potential Slayers go into the Hellmouth before Willow performs her spell? They don’t know if it’ll work. It seems more sensible to wait outside the Hellmouth to see if the spell worked or not. |

You know, I said that the first time I watched the episode and I still don’t understand that. It’s like in the horror movies where the person runs upstairs — why did they do that?????

It would have been a bit of a boring climax if they all just stood there and went “oh look, we are all slayers! yay!” This way was much more exciting and i am glad because it gave the Ubervamps a chance to kill off some of the bad-acting potentials!

I think it’s a bit more mystical than that. Somehow I don’t think the powerful First Evil would have been put off his dastardly plans by a bit of cement.

Yeah. Besides. as it was setting the ubervamps would have come out of the hole and killed everyone.

Probably because even if it hadn’t worked, they’d still have fought. What, if it’d failed they’d've all run away?
