Buffy’s nightmare that the Master attacks and kills her in Nightmares is a foreshadowing of their meeting in Prophecy Girl when he, er, attacks and kills her. |

I like the way buffy “dies” her.
Very human and “normal”
She drowns…

OK, so here’s something I’ve never exactly understood about this episode: Is The Master actually released for the duration of Billy’s Nightmare thingy, or is it just some kinda thought-projected-not-real version? And if he was released, how did he get back underground afterwards?

I think he was actully release but then he went back underground. In the same way the stage for Willow’s performance went away and the same way the massive army of insects outside went bye-bye - it just….did. I guess you are just supposed to think after little Billy woke up, everything went back to the way it was, including The Master being sent back to hell.

You’d think he’d be a little pissed about it, though. Or maybe comment on it at all. Thanks, though.

Think of it as an alternate dimension, it exists, just not in the same time and space as the “normal” one… it was a different master.
