D’Hoffryn

D'Hoffryn

D’Hoffryn was head of the vengeance demons, with the power to make humans into demons, if they show enough talent. He monitors events on Earth from a demon dimension called Arashmaha. D’Hoffryn was responsible for making Anyanka and Halfrek vengeance demons, and offered to do so for Willow in Something Blue, but she declined. He became a type of father figure for many of his demons, even attending Anya’s wedding in Hell’s Bells, though he quickly became angry when they went against his wishes. When Anya decided to become human again, D’Hoffryn killed Halfrek to spite her, in Selfless.

D’Hoffryn’s lines were so fabulous: “water cooler vengeance” in Selfless and the scene where he tries to recruit Willow in Something Blue.

“(he) has a painting of it on his wall”
    Extremely funny.

I always loved the line “I looks like someone slaughtered and Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue”…Very Funny although I read somewhere that Joss had to fight to get it past the network as they thought it was a bit harsh. D’Hoffryn had some great lines though.

I read somewhere that the dude that played D’hoffryn also played Sweet in OMWF! Does anyone know if thats right?

No Dan, D’Hoffryn was played by Andy Umberger, who also played the doctor in the Angel episode ‘I fall to pieces’ who could take himself to bits and put himself back together again.
Sweet was played by Hinton Battle.
