When Lily and Buffy are catching up with each other in Anne, Lily says, “Well, before that, I was following this loser preacher and calling myself Sister Sunshine”. A nice bit of continuity would have been if that preacher had been season seven’s Caleb. |

Though if she had been following Caleb he most likely would have stabbed her. And then she wouldn’t have been able to change her name again and get a spot on Angel.

Even if he wasn’t with the first, I just don’t think Caleb would have ever referred to himself at Sister Sunshine, too much of a chauvinist, don’t you think?

I don’t think Caleb was calling himself Sister Sunshine, I think Lily/Anne was calling herself that.

I got the impression that Caleb was already a misogynistic, sadistic sociopath up to no good pre-first. He was so good at it that the First recruited him to be its right hand man.

It does… unless maybe Caleb was wrapped up in a tangled web of lies involving a group of young girls with weird cheerful names like Sister Sunshine, loads of deceit, and possibly a midget and a block of ice, leading him to a new path that crossed with that of The First and much evil. Wouldn’t that be fun, even if extremely unrealistic?
