Grease

I swear there’s a visual reference to the movie Grease in the episode Flooded.
Towards the end of the episode, when Buffy steps out onto her back porch a lit cigarette butt lands at her feet, and she immediately knows who flicked it. Buffy extinguishes it with her (stylish yet affordable) shoe, in a manner very similar to Olivia Newton John at the start of the number “You’re the one that I want”.
Or maybe it’s just the flu delirium talkin’.

      Cardboardy, you noticed that too? I thought I was the only one! I think it’s the way SMG grinds the cigarette with her shoe. Also, the song in Grease is about how John Travolta’s character has to change (which he does) if he wants to be Sandy’s boyfriend. Symbolic of Spike’s having to change (which he does) if he wants to be Buffy’s boyfriend perhaps?
