Manic cackling

In Choices, a van screeches off as a decoy to the Mayor’s vampires, while Buffy and Angel escape. If you listen carefully, you can hear some manic and triumphant cackling, presumably from the van, directed at the vampires.

[3.10-02.02] Reversed image

In Amends, Angel wakes up from a nightmare and goes walking in Sunnydale’s main street. At one point he walks past a guy dressed as Santa Claus. The image in this scene has obviously been reversed - made very obvious by the backwards ‘OPEN’ sign in a shop window, and …

2001: A Space Odyssey

The episode I Robot, You Jane has a couple of similarities to the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. The voice of the demon Moloch, when he’s still trapped in the computer, is similar to the voice of the murderous computer Hal in the movie. Additionally, the main student with …

Changes afoot at the house

Buffy’s house was orignally shot on location, but was later built on a soundstage to make filming easier. Changes can be seen in the original and rebuilt house:

In The Witch, when Buffy walks into the kitchen, we can see that the regular dining room is not through the door. …

Tucker’s brother

Tom Lenk played two characters in Buffy - Cyrus in Real Me and Andrew Wells in seasons six and seven. A small piece of continuity for these two characters is that others find it hard to remember who they are. In Real Me, when Harmony is talking to her minions …

Open doors

In ‘Who Are You’ Faith is practicing to be Buffy in the bathroom. Doesn’t it then seem a little weird that she leaves both doors open? Joyce could have easily come in any time and wondered what on earth she was doing.

In Loving Memory

In the episode Bad Eggs, Buffy and Angel have the following conversation in a graveyard:

Buffy: “Angel, when I look into the future, all I see is you! All I want is you.”
Angel: “I know the feeling.”
The …

Xander the Jinx

In School Hard, Xander gives the “ultimate jinx” by saying, “Nothing’s gonna happen” and Willow and Buffy walk off in a huff. In Ted, Xander says, “Yeah, with Spike and Drusilla out of the way, we’ve really been ridin’ the mellow… and I am really jinxing the hell out of …

Where is the Campus?

I was re-watching season 4 and in the episode The Freshman when Willow & Buffy are in the graveyard at the start they are talking about going to college and Willow says that UC Sunnydale is “like 5 miles away”.

In The Harsh Light of Day when Parker & Buffy meet …

Band Playing Goof

In the episode Some Assembly Required, after Cordelia is attacked by Eric, Cordelia leaves quickly and says, “That’s the fight song. It’s time for the cheerleader pyramid. I gotta go.”, but you can’t hear the band playing (even the DVD subtitles say “(band playing)” but you can’t hear the band).

[3.05-36.16] Spatula staking

In Homecoming, Buffy uses a spatula to stake the vampire called Candy. The spatula can be seen sticking out of Candy - but nowhere near her heart so she shouldn’t have been dusted. There is also a possible error as the spatula looks to be made of plastic, not wood, …

Descartes

Oz’s thought in Earshot, “We think, therefore she is” comes from Descartes’s theory of consciousness. Descarte’s most famous statement is “cogito ergo sum”, translated as “I think, therefore I am”.
