It does a body good?

In one of the graveyard scenes in Conversations with Dead People, right before Holden attacks Buffy with the Madonna, he picks it up off of a nearby tombstone, first of all, it seems that the statuette would be connected to the marker in some way, not just sitting on top of it. The more interesting part, though, is that there is a glass of what appears to be milk on top of the tombsone. That’s kind of a random thing to be sitting out in a graveyard in the middle of the night, and, as far as I know it’s presence is never addressed by any of the characters. Has this been addressed before?
