A special feature on disc three of the season six box set is a pre-season seven panel discussion with Joss and some crew/cast members. When asked for some information into the upcoming season seven, Joss says, “…getting back to the very first, uh, mission statement of the show…” Did Joss say that as a way to sneak in the First’s return or was it just a coincidence? |

Ah So!
I remember Joss saying that, but I never really understood exactly what he meant. I thought he was talking about making the show less about melodrama and more about fighting evil and being witty. And high school.
But I think you’re onto something …

I watched this DVD extra a couple of days ago, and cringed my way through Nick Brendon’s bad jokes, James Marsters’s over-earnestness and Michelle Trachtenberg’s obsession with heels. Apart from that, Joss was on top form, as always.
Back to the trivia - not too sure if that’s what Joss meant, but you never know!

I felt so bad when no one laughed at Nick’s jokes! Though, to be fair, I wasn’t exactly laughing the night away myself, but still. Poor Nicky!

Yeah, Nick was a bit cringeworthy - I think Alyson was the only actor who came over well.

Joss should script everything for these people that way they don’t have to come up with their own responses and annoy us.

I never knew what this meant either. I was watching it yesterday. Alyson is so different to Willow but I thought Michelle was kinda a lot like Dawn!

Curse not having these DVD’s so that I too can comment on how cringe-worthy Nick was or how Michelle is a mirror of Dawn. All in good time, all in good time.
