In The Wish, at 22:13. In Prophecy Girl, the Master tells Buffy that “prophecies are tricky creatures. They don’t tell you everything. You’re the one that sets me free! If you hadn’t come, I couldn’t go.” So how is the Master released in the alternate reality in The Wish? |

Probably because Buffy never came to Sunnydale, so The Harvest wasn’t stopped and Luke managed to feed on enough people so the Master was able to get free.

Hrm.. could be one way.
but I’m not convinced, never given it a thought before.. But it doesn’t quite add up to what the master says. but I don’t know..
