Marzipan in your pie plate

In her commentary with David Fury for the season six DVD, Marti Noxon said the marzipan comment by the Buffybot in Bargaining (Part 1) (”That’ll put marzipan in your pie plate, bingo!”) was a shout out to Jane Espenson, a fellow Buffy writer, who always thought the word marzipan was funny.

Marzipan is great character at H*R, she is such a hippie. I also love how she seems so nice but bosses Homestar around, great stuff!

    2. Angel242 says:

      I just have to ask,
Don’t they sell marzipan in your countries?
because where I live it’s a tradition to buy loads of it for chrismas.
But I agree with slightlyembarrased, it’s tooooo sweet.
Makes you throw up if you eat loads… trust me,I should know.

    3. MagicBone says:

Sounds like a nummy treat. But that could be my adolescent need for sugar talking.

    4. mairceridwen says:

there is a big ole box of marzipan in the break room RIGHT NOW

    5. Angel242 says:

      I’m sugar addicted.
Acording to a teenage newspaper anyway.

    6. Jet says:

i love marzipan…the candy and the H*R character.

We have loads of marzipan here as well you may find it at a cake decorators supply shop but we have it at the supermarket. Here its mostly put on fruit cakes for wedings and also made into animals and painted for edible cake decotations.

    8. Angel242 says:

But I have to admite that I really hate it, I just eat it because of group pressure ;)

    9. Springy Sunshine says:

Oh, it’s gorgeous. If you get just plain, good quality marzipan (like that which you cover Christmas cake with, before you ice it) & eat it alone, it’s so tasty!
I hate Christmas cake, because I have some bizarro issue with dried fruit - but I always make it for my family JUST so I can eat the marzipan scraps at the end. Mmm.
