Nancy Boy

The phrase “Nancy Boy” is used three times in Buffy and Angel - In Tabula Rasa, Spike says, “He’s got his crust all stiff and upper with that nancy
boy accent” and in School Hard he says, “A lot faster than nancy-boy there.” In Sense and Sensitivity, Tony says to Angel, “”Seems that sensitivity training I paid for really took, huh, nancy boy?”

    1. greengirl00 says:

Spike also says ‘and I’m nearly out of that nancy boy hair gel I like so much’ in In The Dark.

    2. Abby M. says:

I love that whole scene in In The Dark, I have the whole thing memorized! I like Buffy more than Angel but I have to say, the scene where Spike is mocking Angel and the girl is one of my all time favorite moments from either series.

    3. tadpole says:

It’s been said before, but it’s worth repeating: the Angel-Spike petty male bickering is damn funny, or rather, it’s, um, . . . effulgent.

    4. tadpole says:

Oh, yeah. So, I meant to ask, does Spike ever assign the ‘nancy-boy’ moniker to Angel?

    5. Wynter says:

Abby M. summed up how I feel. I absolutely adore that scene, the bit about “prancing away like a magnificent poof” gets me every time!

    6. penguinsrock says:

When Spike is fighting the demon in “Get It Done”, he says “Come on, nancy is that all you got?” or something like that. Not a nancy boy moment, but unless it’s a female demon, we can safely say it counts.
