Oliver Seidel was a noted Physics professor who first got Fred interested in the subject. He introduced his past student when she gave a presentation for the Physics Institute on Supersymmetry. However, Fred discovered her idol was not all he seemed. Jealous of his gifted students, he had researched portals, and sent them into other dimensions - which was how Fred got to Pylea. Seidel died when Gunn snapped his neck and threw him into a portal that Fred had opened, in order to save Fred from murdering him herself.

If I was Fred I would have been very mad at Gunn for killing the bastard I wanted to kill.

I totally agree, Longlostscooby. When I saw that, I just kept thinking, what a typical male thing to do. I never really liked Gunn as much after that. I think he’s an interesting character, but my opinion of him changed after that scene. I can’t help it.

Us Buffy (slash Angel) fans think alike. After everything that Prof. Seidel did to Fred, Gunn had to go and kill him. If I was Fred, I woulda been piiiiissed. You can understand why he didn’t want Fred to be a murderer but not only did that destroy their relationship, but Fred never had that feeling that she had finally gotten back at him. Gotten her revenge, ya know?
But I love her line when she confronts him: “Heard about revenge? Well, I’m the bitch.” (Quite possibly paraphrasing there, but you remember that one.)
