The “related trivia” section on this site is automated, and I’m intrigued by some of the matches it comes up with. My current favourite is the fact that this trivia, about the Queen Mother, has somehow been matched with the trivia on Faith’s mother: “We discover in Enemies that Faith’s mother was a drunk who wouldn’t let her daughter have a puppy.”
Maybe the automated system is suggesting the Queen Mother hit the bottle?

Oh right, sorry just got the “mother” match. Dammit, I was convinced I was on to something there!

Buffy is a common nickname for Elizabeth? Is that a British thing, because I don’t hear that often around here. We have Liz, Lizzy, Beth, Betty, Betsy and so forth.

I think it’s a posh-person’s nickname. Probably not that common now I think about at.

It’s not a British thing. My mum and sister are called Elizabeth and I’ve never once heard that. I’d kill anyone who called them Buffy.

lol why kill them, i would take it as a comp;iment if someone calle me buffy, although it has nothing to do with my name

Our dear royal family called the current queen “Lilibet” until she was about twenty - I wouldn’t put anything past them. I suspect that Buck House is just a facade, and our HRH’s are basically a bunch of crackers living in a big trailer. Much like the Osbournes, but less classy.

But hopefully with fewer speech impediments.
