The earth is doomed

After listening to the Scoobies talking teenage nonsense in The Harvest, Giles says, “The Earth is doomed.” He says almost the same thing in Chosen - “The Earth is definitely doomed.”

I am not to proud to admit that I shead a tear (just one) when he said this in Chosen. It was really cool to see all four of them, the original scoobie members, standing there after all they had been through. Whats great is that they don’t talk about that: How happy they are they made it that far and how much they love each other. Xander, Buffy, and Willow talk about going to the mall while Giles just kinda stands there! Goes back to the season 1 days! I’m extrememly glad Joss put this in.

I made have shed more than one at this moment. I got such a feeling of excitement from seeing this. It is just such a wonderful and happy-making moment to true fans of the show, I think.

    3. Abby M. says:

Yeah! Those who had never seen The Harvest could still find it funny but it was also a cool, inside moment for the fans who had been there since the beginning.

That’s something that I like a lot about the all of those cool little allusions to the past throughout the show’s run. Nobody will suffer if they don’t catch them, but people who do will appreciate them.

    5. Abby M. says:

Exactly. Another thing, if you don’t understand one when you first watch it, it’s fun to catch it the second time. For instance, in Gone Xander says Buffy went all Marcie Ross. I missed that the first time but when I saw that episode again, I got it.
