Unsuspicious Spike

It seems strange that Spike doesn’t comment on why Anya is in Xander’s apartment on her own in Sleeper. After he ‘turns her down’ in the bedroom, she goes into the living room and seemingly spends the rest of the day in there. Why didn’t Spike ask why she was still there?

    1. Mel says:

The only reason that I can give is that even though he and Anya weren’t together anymore, Anya was still spending a lot of time with the Scoobies so being at Xander’s apartment was normal just as the amount if time she was at Buffy’s.

    2. Cassie says:

I think it is because Spike really believed that Anya ‘wanted him’and thought that that was the reason why she was there?

    3. Rozzi says:

because he’s under the first’s control he doesn’t notice that she shouldn’t really be there

but i think he knows she’s keeping an eye on him

    4. margybee says:

I agree with the smart Spike theory :-)

    5. Wynter says:

Maybe he just doesn’t care? It might seem a bit strange that Anya’s still there but it’s not his apartment so he can’t kick her out. Or maybe he doesn’t think it’s wierd at all, seeing as how Anya and Xander are friends and Xander wouldn’t say no to her spending the day in the apartment (which also used to be hers). Plus he’s preoccupied with going out so I don’t think asking her why she was there would be at the top of his list of concerns.
