When the lights go out in the prisoner exchange scene in Choices, Angel says he can see fine, implying that vampires have good night vision. This doesn’t explain why Angel’s looking off to the side when the doors slam open though. |

Um, he’s probably checking the perimeter. In “School Hard,” he chided Spike for not properly guarding the perimeter.

I always figured he was looking off to the side as a, “you’re unimportant and I don’t have to look at you even if you slam the door open. I’m/we’re not intimidated” thing. Possibly with less words. It’s like at non-sport extracurricular activities competitions, when you’re not supposed to look at the other teams/groups of people participating in non-sport extracurricular activities.
