Personally, I didn’t like Wesley that much, but I wouldn’t want him tod die, although it would have made a lot of people I know happy.

Those people didn’t watch it till the end then. He had great comedy timing, slapstick and was also uber cool in Angel after the first season.

Wesley was a great character - and I hate to sound too gushy but Alexis Denisof is really a wonderful actor. Ant4Buffy is right in that he’s a really good comedic actor.

I thought he was at his best SPOLER ALERT - DO NOT READ ON IF FOR SOME INSANE REASON YOU HAVEN@T WATCHED ANGEL SEASON 5.
I thought he was at his best after Fred died. Completely nihilstic, dark Wesley with a dry sardonic humour. He played the man with nothing to live for so well.

In one of the commentary’s they say that wes was brought into be killed off. the only reason they kept him was because they liked him so much. much like james and juliette.

Which commentary is this on? I am not saying you are wrong but i don’t remember hearing it? i just thought that doyle was killed off because joss liked shaking things up and the actor couldn’t carry on acting.

Actually I haven’t got the chance to see Angel’s season 5 yet, it didn’t aired in Hungary. They simple decided that they don’t show it to the Hungarian fans… :(
Altough I did knew about Wesley’s teary sad death (I’ve read the transcripts and I cried like a child…:( ).
I liked him in BtVS, because he was very funny in those epis. And then I didn’t liked him in his first Angel seasons. And then, after his throat was cut and he started that little dirty, sexy relationship with Lilah I was totally in love with him (totally un-literally:)).
So I think he is best in his “Marlboro Man” style from Season 4. His humor was getting better and he’s definetely looked much better with his sad, dark, smart, nihilistic face…. :)
I was very sad that he couldn’t make to the finale battle… :( Actually he was my favorite character from Angel… :(
