The White Hats are the good guys in the episode The Wish. They consist of Giles, Oz, Larry and Nancy. The name comes from classic Westerns in which the ‘good guys’ always wore a white hat. |

It is entirely possibly that Nancy is the first Potential Slayer we see in the show. She is only ever seen in this episode, one would assume that she and Buffy were swapped by Cordelia’s wish and in reality Nancy’s watcher would be the watcher Giles spoke to on the phone to find Buffy and bring her to Sunnydale. This would also explain why Giles is still in the Buffyless Sunnydale. One would assume that the council would not have sent Giles to Sunnydale without a mission to train a Slayer.
