[5.11-39.03] Random person

Goof seen in: Triangle at 39.03

There is a person wearing white seen in the Magic Box, after Olaf has been defeated, but who is it? The only people in the shop are Buffy, Tara, Willow, Anya and Xander. None of them is wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt. But there’s someone in a white shirt seen standing to the right of Anya. Whoever it is, he/she is between Anya and Buffy when Buffy puts the hammer on the glass case, and turns round when it smashes the glass. When Buffy gets a tissue the person is seen to her left.

Money: so that they could charge more in different areas. DVDs (and CDs) usually cost in dollars in the States what they cost in pounds in Britain. So that means that in GB they’re nearly twice as expensive as in the States

Funny, I read this while I was watching the exact episode on DVD. I went back and watched the whole scene very carefully and there is no “randon person” standing anywhere. It’s just the five of them (Buffy, Willow, Xander, Anya and Tara).
The only explination I can think of is that you can only see this mystery person on the Region 2 DVD’s because Region 2 are all widescreen. Region 1 is full screen, the way Joss wanted it. Probably for reasons like that.

It’s supposed to be Xander - they must have messed up the clothes with one shoot. When Xander speaks off-camera Buffy responds by going to touch the mystery guy to her left. Also, the mystery guy is standing to Anya’s right, which is where Xander is standing in wider shots. But then when Xander speaks to Buffy he looks straight in front of him, instead of to his side where Buffy should be standing.
