At the end of the episode Same Time Same Place when Buffy and Willow are sitting on the bed and Buffy admits that she thought Willow might have been behind the killings that Gnarl did, she says the following line: “I wanna be the kind of person that wouldn’t think that. Xander never thought it” Yes he did! Earlier when Buffy and Xander are looking at the boy’s body at the site, Xander says: “Yeah, I know exactly what you’re thinking. Maybe Willow is back” To me, this means that he is maybe thinking that Willow did have something to do with it. |

The line saying that “Xander never thought it” isn’t actually a mistake. In fact, right after this line, Willow states, “Yes, he did.” The viewer is told plainly by that line that he did think it (as we suspected anyway after hearing that earlier line that you mentioned.) Not that it matters, but I just want to add that I always have loved that scene between Sarah Michelle Geller and Alyson Hannigan (as well as that whole episode,) largely because it is so much more lively and full and much less dark and depressing than so many episodes from season six (not that I don’t like season six, just not as much as other seasons.)

Yeh, I get your point but what I am meaning is this - Buffy is saying that Xander never thought it when Buffy knows that he did. It was to Buffy not Willow that Xander said the line “maybe Willow is back”
