Goof seen in: What's My Line? (Part 2) at 01.24
Only direct sunlight harms vampires - and it just kills them. Angel is seen being weakened by sunlight which is nowhere near him. This is strange as we’ve seen him with far more sunlight on him before and after this and he was fine then. He should easily be able to break the flimsy cage. |

Yeah, but it sure made good theater. Great scene–the colors, the music, the drama of it. I really like the way Joss and friends rethink their characters–and their universe–all the time.
Scenario: So maybe the cage was harder to break out of than it looked. And maybe Angel was exhausted from the hours he’d just spent trying, and from the psychological effects of knowing that the sun was creeping toward him and he had no way of saving himself. Later, Angel proved to be extremely strong psychologically. But it took some time for him to get there. Also, his love for Buffy was still new, and it pained him to know he wasn’t going to be around much longer to be with her. And perhaps it wrecked him further to know that an apparent assassin (Kendra) had bested him and was perhaps killing Buffy as well and he could do nothing about it.
