Buffy appears to be wearing Angel’s jacket at the beginning of ‘Homecoming’ as well. She tells the pained-and recently returned from Hell-Angel that she’s involved with Scott Hope, whom she can “count on”. Angel actually reaches out and touches the jacket to accentuate the point.
Nice mixed signal there, Buffy! Harsh.
It’s great that Scott dumps Buffy in the very next scene. Very funny juxtaposition.

Is it Angel’s jacket Buffy is wearing in the episode Bad Girls when she skips out on the chemistry test to go on a vamp run with Faith? I can’t tell, and my poor observational skills don’t help.

I think Buffy told Angel about Scott in order to remove temptation. If she’s involved with someone else, then it’s less likely that they would give in to their mutual desire.
