David Fury’s original idea for the episode Helpless was to have Buffy made to hallucinate that her friends and family were vampires. It was felt though, that this would be too close to the events of The Wish. |

Speaking of friends as vampires: Giles is the only core Scooby not to ever have vamp-face, right? I wonder why the writers never went that way. Could’ve been neat.
Buffy dreamed herself in vampface in “Nightmares.” Willow & Xander vamped in “The Wish” & “Doppelgangland.”

Giles would be a scary vampire if he was ever turned.
The idea was used in the Buffy novels - The Lost Slayer - and he ended up being the vampire king.
He had all the knowledge of a watcher and knew all about slayers, not to mention the fact that he is one (if not THE) of the smartest men in the Buffyverse, so not only a vampire but one with enough knowledge to know what he is doing.
I would reccommend the book, a great read - worth it just to see that side of Giles.

Has anyone read the novel about Dawn and Buffy and how they memories were modified? like when faith came or when Angel went bad?

Do you know the name of the novel Ant?
I have Buffy books that I haven’t even read yet - they seem to be piling up quicker that I can read them - but that one sounds really good.

In a later episode, Buffy is made to hallucinate that her whole world is just something she has fabricated, and that she is really insane. This sort of relates…
