 Chao-Ahn was a potential Slayer from Shanghai in China, first seen in First Date. Buffy told Xander that Giles was picking her up at the airport in Potential so she must have gone on the vision quest field trip in The Killer in Me. She spoke no English and none of the other Scoobies could understand her when she spoke. Chao-Ahn survived the final battle in the Hellmouth in Chosen. Watching Chosen, sounds like such a hard thing to bring yourself to do (well, gee, it doesn’t sound so hard after all, now does it; in fact it sounds like a pretty good idea for me as well).

That’s what they needed in ‘First Date’. They could have had Giles showing the cards with music playing. That makes flahcard-ness even better (not that it’s not good already).
