Faith and comas

Faith has had bad luck with comas - her first being the result of a fight with Buffy at the end of Graduation Day (Part 1). She is stabbed with her own knife, but jumps off her balcony onto a moving truck before she can kill her. She then shares a dream with the also unconscious Buffy. In the Angel episode ‘Orpheus‘, she drugs herself, and is bitten by Angelus, leaving her in a second coma, during which she shares a dream (of sorts) with both Angel and his evil alter ego. She is knocked unconscious by an explosion for most of Dirty Girls, and at the end of Chosen, says “I just want to sleep, yo, for like a week.” Dangerous request, considering her track record!

What always stood out in that episode is how Buffy made no effort to run after the truck, which was moving rather slowly as it pulled away with Faith’s body and, more importantly, Faith’s blood, i.e., the easy cure for Angel. I would think, under the circumstances, she would have at least chased the truck a couple blocks before going back to Angel, and *ahem* giving it up to him. (As most of you no doubt recall, Joss Whedon referred to the scene in which Buffy offers herself to Angel — to “Drink me” — as the most thinly-veiled metaphor in the series entire run.)

I think she may have been feeling a little battle weary at that point, physically and emotionally.

Yeah, Buffy must be shocked by tha fact that Faith wouldn’t help even, you know… ‘Dead’.

As Faith hoppin’ to ‘Sleep for like a week’; I’d think it twice before say that is I were her xD
