I always thought it was weird that the Initiative people called the demon a Polgara, considering they didn’t seem to research much about demon species and all.

they probably did just enough to figure out what they needed for Adam.

Buffy refers to the Polgara as the “Polka” demon. The writers seem to enjoy joking with (usually punning) on demon names.
M’Vashnik (sp?), as in Mmm cookies, for example.
Other examples abound, but i can’t seem to think of them now. Go to the researching, team! (so we all get to be not staked through the heart)

Are you sure it’s a Polgara demon that was electrocuted by buffy? I’m pretty sure the demons that attacked buffy in the sewer had both of their arms. Also,. I think the Polgara was killed by the Initiative once it’s arm had been removed for Adam.

I think the polgara was captured by Buffy and the Initiative in the “fighting/sex” montage but i can’t remember which ones they were in the sewers, i know she recognised them from when she took her tour in the initiative but i don’t think they were the polgara.

I can remember having seen a David Eddings reference in this page, but it seems to have gone….
Polgara is one of the main characters in his Belgariad/Mallorean books.

Hey Jess
The Polgara demon was killed by Walsh & Anglemen in 314 so they could attach the arm to Adam.
the demons that were sent after Buffy in the sewers were the demons (dont have a name) that Buffy saw in the pit when she was first taken into The Initiative at the start of the episode.
The ones that Maggie called tough, it took 8 men to bring them down.

Ah, I searched on the site for ‘Eddings’, while the page says ‘Edding’s’.

Thanks Mel - have changed the Polgara description.
Sorry for the lame punctuation, ildjarn. Will sort that out….
