At the Posting Board in August 2000, Joss said, “a woman came up to me after the panel (at a convention) to say “Thank you for Tara”. It’s cool that someone would tell him that, but it does make sense. I certainly can understand why this character would mean this much to this person (since Tara is easily my personal favorite character of the ever.)
