5.09 Harm’s Way

Keeping her job as Angel’s assistant is the least of Harmony’s worries when she wakes up with a dead vamp-bite victim in her bed and no memory of the previous night’s events. And things go from bad to worse when the gang’s investigation reveals that the dead guy was a demons’ rights activist negotiating between two warring clans.

Angel: If it's gonna get you out of here faster, fine. Just not the Viper.
Spike: Viper it is, then.

References

Dixie Chicks

Fred hangs a poster of the Dixie Chicks in her lab in Conviction (we see the poster again in Shells). Fred also tells Harmony in Harm’s Way, “Anyway, if you want to hang out again sometime, we could grab some wine, jam to the Dixie Chicks.” The Dixie Chicks are a Dallas-based all-female country music trio, with hit songs such as “Wide Open Spaces”, “Cowboy Take Me Away”, and “Long Time Gone“. They became known for their outspoken views, particularly when member Natalie Maines’ made a public criticism of President George W. Bush on the eve of the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Rohypnol

Buffy says to Xander in Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered, “She loved you before you invoked the great Roofie spirit.” Roofie is the street name for Rohypnol, also known as the “date rape drug,” which enhances the effect of alcohol and causes sleepiness and memory loss.
In Harm’s Way, Tamika tells Harmony, “So I slipped a roofie in your drink while you were busy slutting it up. Then I followed you back to your place with that guy and waited till you passed out, and then broke in, had myself a little snack “

Quotes

Tamika: You want to know the first thing I'm gonna do when I get your desk? Smash all of those stupid, ugly-ass unicorns!

Angel: If it's gonna get you out of here faster, fine. Just not the Viper.
Spike: Viper it is, then.

Spike: Anything you want me to tell Buffy?
Angel: Yeah...Tell her you're a moron.

Harmony: Oh, what? I don't get a good-bye just because I went crazy and tried to rip your throat out while we were having sex?

Spike: Keep it simple, Harm. It suits you.

Gunn: Hardest part of the job - terminating the employee.

Fred: There haven't been any side effects since you recorporealized, have there?
Spike: Bit of a hangover. But that's to be expected after all the drinking.
