Mythology Trivia
Anagogic

Anagogic demons

Hailing from the dimension of Pylea, Anagogic demons have distinctive green skin and small red horns protruding from the forehead. Known for their tracking and hunting skills they have the power to channel their mind to read the aura of other beings. Anagogics can survive decapitation as long as their body is not destroyed. Their ears are very sensitive to certain noises, including singing. Female Anagogic demons have excessive facial hair and deep voices. Their social and cultural beliefs are centered on family pride, honour, hunting, and battle. They perform many tribal dances, such as the Dance of Joy and the Dance of Shame.
The first Anagogic demon seen in Angel was the Host of demon karaoke bar Caritas, Lorne, who had escaped Pylea, claiming it was too dangerous and lacked music.

Harry Potter

Harry Potter

The popular book series Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling is referenced a few times in Buffy. In Real Me, Dawn says, “I’m not going to Hogwarts”. This is a reference to Hogwarts is the school for wizards that Harry attends.
In Lessons, Willow wonders why Giles went “all Dumbledore on me”, referring to the Head Master at Hogwarts school. In Bring on the Night, Andrew says, “An evil name should be something like Lex or Voldemort.” He’s referring to Superman’s nemesis Lex Luthor and Voldmort, who appears in the Harry Potter books.
In Potential, Andrew plays with the snakeskin for the spell, and says “at your ssservice, Missss Rosenberg, sssir”. This is also a reference to Harry Potter - Harry can speak to snakes, and does so in film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which is when the snake says “at your ssservice, Mister Potter, sssir”.
In Empty Places, while Anya is giving her talk about the Turok-Han in the basement, Kennedy goes up to the kitchen where Faith asks, “Shouldn’t you be at Hogwarts?”
In Belonging, Lorne says “This reading room - to die for. Raked stage, rocking chair, fabulous colours. I’m tempted to just show up tomorrow morning with Harry Potter”.

Quotes

Cordelia: What are you doing here?
Angel: Getting a tan. Not bursting into flames.

Angel: Do you want me to rip that guy's head off for you? Because I can, really. I can actually rip his head right off his body. I can do that.

Angel: When was last time Cordy took crap from any of us?
Gunn: Never and the day after never!

Angel: I mean, walking I get, but power-walking. Why not just run for a shorter time. Weird.

Lorne: Are you gonna help me or do I need to break out my champion rolodex?

Angel: Are you okay?
Cordelia: Why does everyone ask me that! Do I look okay?

Landok: She rips your images into tiny pieces. Feeds them to the swine. Butchers the pigs and has their remains scattered for the dogs.
Lorne: Sounds like ma.

Lorne: More food? Oh, you mean people. Oh, you mean people.

Landok: I feel we will meet again someday.
Lorne: Oh god, I hope not.
