The character of Olivia appeared in three episodes in season four (The Freshman, Hush, and Restless), and was mentioned in one other (Who Are You?). These are the four episodes of that year that Joss Whedon wrote. She was was at least mentioned in every Joss Whedon episode of season four, and was never seen or even referenced in any non-Joss Whedon episode of the entire series. It seems that this character must have been of interest to him, at least during season four. |

I did liked her in Hush…
and I thought it was nice to see Giles have a ‘girlfriend’…

I didn’t like her all too well. Something about her was….not right. I didn’t hate her but for her to leave Giles, I kinda felt like, “Hey, he deals with scary things all the time and you can’t deal for a week?” Then again, everyone has their niche and hers wasn’t in Buffy.

she was just there for those 4 episodes…
I really thought they could have made her story longer…
I mean… in those 7 years Giles only had Jenny and Olivia… right?

I wish I knew why she didn’t show up more. I guess she couldn’t be as good or popular as Jenny, but she made for a potenially interesting character, and it would have been nice to see her some more.

I think the reason Joss used Olivia so much was because of the way she represented Giles’s position in season four. I thought she was an interesting character but couldn’t see her fitting in the show long-term.

but still she was only in 4 episodes… im not saying that she would have fitted in the show for long… but at least some more background and episodes about her would be nice…

Come on! That was funny! Okay, wrong and stunning in a baaaad way, but the same time it was funny. The misapprehension of their whole relationship (because they couldn’t remember anything) was lead to a bunch of jokes and crazy situations. I liked that! :)
